I have the same sentiment. The art style and atmosphere caught my attention way back when they first showed FFvXIII. I thought that FFvXIII would be a breath of fresh air for the franchise with its different gameplay and setting while still retaining core epicness that Final Fantasies strive to present the gamer.
Also, while I haven't finished FFXIII (yes, I know I'm not terribly informed), I want to strangle Vanille anytime I hear her speak. It's one thing for...
I loved the music of the first game and this trailer firmly proves that I will love the music of second game.
I just finished the original Thief that was released back in 1998 and it got me stoked for the new game. Thief plays like how I wish Assassin's Creed did. The game makes you stick to the shadows and slink around in the dark to find your target. I really hope they are able to upgrade the movement system to something similar to Assassin's Creed while maintaining the essence of stealth (that and water arrows =P). Go check out the original game on Steam or GOG. It may look a bit date...
Score! That was the same thing that I wanted to confirm.
True. Developers don't have to worry about the text being too small for certain players. I think Dead Rising was a game that had this issue when it was released.
Although slightly off-topic, I really hope that this game gets Oculus Rift support on the PC (and PS4 if Sony is willing).
Games are meant to either be fun and/or rewarding experiences. If a developer did a good job making their game, I should want to play it regardless of the art style of the game.
That part made me smile. It was just an onslaught of developer after developer.
While Sony didn't reveal a ton of new 1st party games, they did show commitment to ongoing evolution of the gaming industry. Indie gaming is starting to become a dominant player despite not having the budgets of the giant publishers. They are helping reinvigorate stagnating publishers by taking chances with the unique games that would never see the light despite there being a large market.
Though I do love to see the 1st party games, I don't need to see them because...
@MysticStrummer
I caught that also. I hope they come out later and say that that bullet point was addressing something along the lines of a "complete online experience" rather access to multiplayer. However, I am doubtful of that as they would have emphasized that in the conference as another strength. PS+ has never been such a great value for me because I tend to buy all my games in hard copy form, so free games never really had as much pull for me as others. <...
Sure it wasn't as emotionally riveting as previous demos, but the whole goal of the demo was to show the extent of expression that they can now achieve with face and body language.
Even if these demos aren't games I love seeing what Quantic Dream is able to put together.
@bootsielon
I agree with much of what you listed. I always like seeing Kaz, but I guess they are trying to push some of the younger blood up in front now that he is at the top of the company.
Although The Last Guardian was absent, I bet they will announce something at the Tokyo Game Show since that is a Japanese game. As for Uncharted and God of War I think that they should let them rest for a few years. Kratos can only slaughter so many things and Naughty...

I love the characters that run Sony. All of them seem down to earth and genuinely friendly people. When I saw Yoshida display all the twitter comments I knew that that they were going to announce something with regards to the DRM later in the show.
Some of its draw is likely to be because it plays more like an action rpg similar to Kingdom Hearts. While some might be up in arms given that FFXV will not be a traditional jrpg, I think this is a smart move that allows Square Enix to have more freedom with future Final Fantasy titles.
My only big complaint with newer Final Fantasies is that as they strive for more and more realism campy dialogue mars the otherwise realistic experience. Games like Kingdom Hearts that don...
Come on Oculus Rift integration. *Crosses Fingers*
Let there be Oculus Rift integration.
@Mr_Nuts
I remember those days on N4G. There was a war everyday from the some of the bigger personas. While it is a lot quieter now, I do kind of miss reading the very recognizable trolls go at it. Ah the nostalgia...
The Jak series was designed as a trilogy, so any game that follows will suffer from either being a side story (not necessarily bad) or trying to shoehorn a new epic into an already resolved universe. With the Uncharted franchise each game is its own story allowing Naughty Dog the flexibility to make as many or few games as the universe allows. So I am with you also. I don't want to go back to the Jak series without truly investing in it and doing more than just modern version of an ide...
"word of mouth travels fast and even though mom and dad don't spend a lot of time on gaming forums they will eventually learn the disadvantages of buying it..."
So true. My mom the other day asked me what was the controversy with the Xbox One. She has never touched a game in her life and probably doesn't even know what a forum is. Word of mouth travels fast.
@Snookies12
It's nice to hear that they develop the character some later in the game. I'll surely pick up FFXIII sometime again in the future when work (and my mindless waste of time on N4G =P) doesn't prevent me from enjoying some nice long RPGs.
